lockin

track what you eat, your gym sets, sleep and weight, on your phone and laptop. your log is just text in a private github repo that's yours. no account, no server.

the demo is steve's month of losing weight. tap around and log stuff, nothing gets saved.

how it works

  1. today: the 6 squares up top are your daily checklist: sleep, weight, breakfast, lunch, dinner, gym. each one fills up when you log it. meals go by time: breakfast is 4 to 11 am, lunch 11 am to 4 pm, dinner 7 pm onwards. tap a square to log it.
  2. got an AI set up? just type what you had in the box on today, like "2 eggs and toast at 9" or "squat 3x8 at 60", or send a pic of your plate. check it, fix the grams if they're off, save.
  3. food: tap something you eat a lot to log it again, or add it yourself.
  4. gym: pick an exercise, kg and reps, log the set. the body map shows what's still recovering and what you've been skipping.
  5. trends: kcal, protein, sugar, sleep and weight over 7, 30 or 90 days, and this week vs last.
  6. the arrows up top change the day. the time box is for stuff you forgot to log earlier.

set it up

  1. hit set up my log. settings walks you through making a private repo and a token, 3 steps.
  2. want to just type what you ate? add an AI. a free key from console.groq.com/keys works, paste it in settings and hit use groq. no AI is fine too, the forms work.
  3. on your phone, hit add to home screen in the browser menu so it opens like an app, even offline.

on a laptop

there's a terminal app too, it logs to the same repo. install it on linux or mac:

then clone your log and tell lockin where it is:

then run lockin. keys:

a type what you had (needs an AI)
/ log by hand:
       /f dal 1bowl 230 12 30 7
(name, amount, kcal, protein, carbs, fat)
       /s squat 60 8 /w 80.5 /n slept badly
add @13:00 for a different time
h l day before, day after. t = today
j k move. r = log again, e = edit, d = delete
s sync. q = quit

lockin connect shows a QR code. scan it with your phone and this site gets the same repo and AI keys.

weight

notes

eat again, tap to log

add food

new exercise

kg is the plates or the machine. ×2 when kg is one side. Bar is the bar's weight, e.g. 15. The set saves the total.

new here? set up in three steps
  1. Create a private data repo.
  2. Make a token for only that repo, with contents read and write.
  3. Fill in the repo and token below and save. lockin adds its files to the empty repo.

ai

Tried top to bottom. If one fails or hits its free limit, the next one answers. None means AI is off.

leaderboard: which model logs best

OpenRouter requests only go to providers that keep no data. Groq keeps no inference data by default. For groq, get a key at console.groq.com/keys and add it below. You can also turn on Zero Data Retention in Groq's Data Controls. Bedrock is paid per use and does not keep or train on requests. Make a long-term API key in the Bedrock console.

what the AI knows about you

me.md in your data repo. Every AI reads it before logging. Add how you say things, your usual portions, your bar weight.

goals

leave sugar empty to use WHO's limit (10% of your kcal goal).

suggest goals

Uses your latest logged weight. Fills the goal boxes above, then you save.
